Text Summarizer
Condense long text into a clear, concise summary using extractive summarization.
Text Summarizer Tool – Condense Any Text Automatically
The SEOToolsK Text Summarizer uses extractive summarization — identifying and extracting the most statistically important sentences from your text — to create a concise summary that preserves the key information. Unlike AI generative models, extractive summarization doesn't invent content; it selects the most relevant existing sentences.
How Extractive Summarization Works
Our algorithm evaluates each sentence using multiple scoring factors:
- Term Frequency: Sentences containing frequently occurring meaningful words score higher.
- Position Score: First and last sentences of paragraphs are often more important.
- Sentence Length: Sentences that are neither too short nor too long are preferred.
- Keyword Density: Sentences with high concentrations of unique, meaningful words rank higher.
When to Use a Text Summarizer
- Research: Quickly digest academic papers and long reports.
- Content marketing: Create TL;DR sections for blog posts.
- News reading: Grasp the key points of long news articles quickly.
- Study aids: Summarize textbook chapters for revision.
- SEO meta descriptions: Extract the most important sentence as a page description.
Limitations
Extractive summarization works best on factual, structured text like news articles, reports, and essays. It may not work as well on highly creative or conversational text. For best results, provide text of at least 200 words.
